Google Apps 291x300 Google introduces unique applications to the governmentThe U.S. company announced that a group of applications designed for the use of the officials is available since yesterday.

Unlike the software provided on the network (email, calendars and others) Google Apps for public employees were developed with guidance from people close to the local governments in Los Angeles and Orlando.

The applications provide the same services that users know, however, among its features include additional extras, which are necessary to meet the requirements of staff.

Google indicates that the software does not need to be installed on a computer because it offers the facilities that users already know, also emphasizes that the first set of applications it has received U.S. government approval, so the certification issued by the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) is tangible proof of the Google security controls.

It is reported that the proposal is being used by some employees of government laboratory in Berkeley.

The service has a cost of $ 50  (39 euros) per year and the time only be marketed in the United States but it is sure that in a couple of years talking about similar alternatives elsewhere.
